During the Coronavirus pandemic housing associations in Wales are working around the clock to ensure tenants feel supported and safe in their homes.
The crisis has had an unprecedented impact on people’s jobs, communities and lives. To alleviate tenants’ concerns and provide reassurance to communities, housing associations and local authorities have come together to make four key commitments:
- Housing associations will keep tenants safe and secure in their home
- Housing associations will help tenants get the financial support they need
- Housing associations will support tenants and find solutions if they have difficulty paying rent
- Housing associations will do everything they can to support tenants’ wellbeing
These commitments have developed with Welsh Government, CHC and the Welsh Local Government association. They form the basis of a financial assistance protocol which has been endorsed by all social landlords in Wales. You can find out more by visiting this page.
To showcase this work, and raise awareness of the support available to tenants, we have developed a campaign called ‘With You’. The campaign aims to shine a light on the range of support available to social housing tenants, including the work delivered in line with the protocol.
The campaign is ongoing throughout the crisis. So we can show the true impact of your activity, we are working closely with the housing charity HACT to measure the impact of this work on tenants and communities.
You can get involved in the campaign by sending stories or case studies to email@example.com and by using the hashtag #WithYou on social media.
